Our Trustees

Virginia’s youngest daughter was diagnosed with DDH at eight months old. Virginia says: “Steps helped my family with practical and emotional support when we needed it most. I wanted to repay that service by joining the Steps Board. I’ve spent 20 years working in marketing roles across sectors. My day job is Director of Marketing at First Bus.”

Adam is a children’s physiotherapist in Leeds and looks after children with a range of orthopaedic conditions. He has a specialist interest in Perthes’ Disease. In recent years, Adam has been involved in fundraising activities for Steps as well as volunteering at Steps-In Camps and other events. Adam recently joined the Steps board to offer a clinical insight into the activities at Steps, with the aim to support the amazing work we do.

Aisha Parks is a Chartered Accountant and finance executive with over two decades of experience spanning multinational corporations, high-growth private enterprises, and regulated industries across the UK, US, and international markets. A seasoned leader, Aisha has guided organisations through complex transformations, global expansions, and major financial restructurings, while maintaining a consistent focus on governance, integrity, and long-term value creation.

Her career has encompassed senior roles at PwC, Visa, AEG, ManpowerGroup, Amazon, and several global businesses – each marked by innovation, strategic impact, and measurable growth. Recognised for modernising financial functions, negotiating large-scale funding agreements, and strengthening cross-border operations, Aisha combines deep technical expertise with commercial foresight.

A Warwick MBA graduate and Fellow Member of ACCA, Aisha is also a published voice on leadership and representation in industry.

Jenny joined Steps as a trustee in December 2025, after seeking information to support her journey through managing the long term consequences of being born with bilateral talipes and having corrective surgery many years ago. She found that there was little information available and resolved to do what she could to share experiences with others.

Jenny brings a wealth of business experience having run her own HR consultancy and coaching business, combined with many years running GP practices. Her current role is leading the use of innovation in primary and community care, to improve patient outcomes and help grow small entrepreneurial companies.

Eleri is Head of Communications and Marketing for a charity in Cardiff, bringing over a decade of experience in communications, storytelling and stakeholder engagement across the third and public sectors.

She joined Steps following her daughter’s diagnosis of hip dysplasia at five months old, which led to multiple operations and ongoing monitoring. During this time, Steps provided invaluable support, offering reassurance, practical advice and helping the family access a specialist adapted car seat when they needed it most.

As a Trustee, Eleri is passionate about strengthening Steps’ voice, helping more families and adults access support, and ensuring the charity continues to be there for every step of the journey.

Kathryn was introduced to Steps after her youngest daughter was diagnosed with bilateral talipes equinovarus (clubfoot) during a 20 week pregnancy scan back in 2020. Since then, Steps has remained close to her family’s hearts, and together they have supported the charity through fundraising and advocacy over the years.

Kathryn works in responsible AI and brings professional experience in technology risk, marketing technology, and event management. She is passionate about using both her professional expertise and lived experience to support the charity’s work and the families it helps.
